Classic Tossed Salad

- 1 lb. european salad (or other packaged salad mix)
- 2-1/2 Tbs. olive oil
- 1-1/2 Tbs. red wine vinegar
- 1-1/2 tsp. Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1/4 tsp. salt (optional), or to taste
Place lettuce in a salad bowl. Combine remaining ingredients in a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Season with pepper to taste and shake vigorously. Pour dressing over salad and toss.
